Who is Jesus

Historians and theologians fill the airwaves and the cable channels with a variety of opinions attempting to express their view of who Jesus is.  After all, this question raises the most significant issue that queries the heart of man.  Early believers composed various creeds that have stood the test of time because they focused on this one important question, “Who is Jesus.”

"I believe . . . in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead."

Here at Harvest we believe that the entire Bible, Genesis through Revelation, is given by God to reveal to us who Jesus is.  So with simplicity we search the scriptures because we believe that they testify of Jesus (John 5:39).

Genesis 3:15 - He is the seed of the woman

Psalm 2 - The Son begotten

Isaiah 9:6 - Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace

Daniel 9:25 - He is Messiah the Prince

John 1:29 - The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world

John 8:12 - The Light of the world

John 10:36 - The Son of God

Revelation 19:16 - The King of kings and Lord of lords

Jesus Christ came to free us and forgive us from our sins. Because we are all sinners, we deserve to be punished, but Jesus took that punishment so we wouldn't have to.
